Dr. Durairaj (Mahesh) Maheswaran is the Paganelli-Bull Professor of Marketing and International Business at the Stern School of Business, New York University. He lived a Ph.D. in marketing from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, at Northwestern University. He has published widely in leading publications such as the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. His research interests are in Consumer Behavior, Culture, Nation Equity and Globalization.

Prof. Maheswaran is a past Editor of the Journal of Consumer Psychology and previously was an Associate Editor with the Journal of Consumer Research. He is also a Past-President of the Society for Consumer Psychology. Prof. Maheswaran is a recipient of the Citibank Excellence in Teaching award at NYU. The concept of Nation Equity was developed based on his extensive research in the area of country of origin effects and he has made presentations in many countries around the world on this topic.
